Welcome

Good Morning! 

If you've stumbled on to this blog by accident or have absolutely no idea who I am, well, you aren't alone. So, welcome to my blog where you will find out who I am, what I stand for, and probably more than you want to know about my personal and professional passions as I seek the sometimes heartbreaking route to publication.

Someone once as me why did I dream of becoming a writer, why did I choose this profession over another, any other. The simplest yet most profound answer I could give was that telling stories was what I was born to do, not something I chose to do.

By the age of four, I could already read books written for 7-10 year olds, and by the time I was nine my reading and comprehension level was that of a High School senior. Yet even then, at such a young age, I was writing stories of my own when books were scarce to come by and forced my parents and siblings to read my work. The books I did own I created library cards for and pockets so I could "Check out" and return them to my personal library. While other children dreamed of becoming astronauts, firemen, cops and robbers, I dreamed of becoming a published author, a librarian, even a literature professor--anything that would give me unlimited and unparalleled access to the written word.

I looked forward to doing book reports, research papers and writing assignments handed out by my teachers. I even went so far as to ask for extra assignments from my English, History, and literature teachers. Yeah, sick, I know... 

I freely admit it... My name is Cassie Black and I'm a book addict!!

So, long story short (pun intended), with the arrival of the new year and the recent passing of my 40th birthday, I've decided to follow my dream. I hope you'll follow along with me as I see where this crazy journey leads as I follow the winding road toward publication.
